A
Mission Statement is a declaration of the definite task with
which an organisation is charged, that is to say, it's main function.
Our
statement is not intended to be prescriptive or fully comprehensive,
rather a starting point for all our endeavours. It's ownership lies
with the membership, was developed collaboratively and reflects
the primary role of the Kettering Chamber of Trade and Commerce
as seen at it's time of writing.
The
Mission Statement
"The
mission of the non-profit making Kettering Chamber of Trade and
Commerce shall be to originate, consider and promote all such lawful
measures, plans and schemes as may be calculated to benefit, improve
and secure the economic, manufacturing, commercial and general interests
of the Borough of Kettering and its neighbourhood, including the
promoting, supporting or opposing of legislative or other such measures
affecting the aforesaid interests."
This
Mission Statement has been in existence for many years, formerly
know as the "Objects". It was recently re-examined by the members,
with a view to rewriting. However, changes were minimal. It was
agreed that it defines 'the purpose of the organisation' within
the larger context of our local society within the Borough of Kettering.
Our
Guiding Principles and Values:
- a
commitment to strive for excellence in local services and infrastructure
- a
commitment to encourage commercial diversity to secure our economic
future
- a
commitment to promote community and commercial honesty, integrity
& openness
- a
commitment to improving the lives and environment of everyone
in our community through commercial innovation, creativity and
training & development
Our
vision is that we maintain our recognition locally as a leader
in caring for the interests of the community and the commercial
interests in and around the Borough of Kettering. We aim to do this
by looking after the interests of our members, encouraging wider
membership and inward investment.
